I consider myself to be a very active therapist. My goal is to have you leave every session with a new tool, an insight, or an increased understanding about why you are struggling to make the changes you desire. I will work to assure your confidence and ability to implement these new tools to support you becoming the best version of yourself.
While I ideally like to support you reaching your goals without the need for medication, in situations where pharmacological intervention is needed I am happy to coordinate with your provider to facilitate this process.
I work with adult individuals who want to have a better understanding of themselves, why they do the things they do, why they have been unable to find solutions prior to now and how to remove the obstacles that have repeatedly prevented them from finding true contentment and joy. I promote self awareness and spirituality that allows people to ultimately appreciate who they are, adjust the obstacles that are getting in their way and achieve greater peace.
I provide an exceptionally unique approach to couples work. Instead of just focusing on recurring conflicts, I help clients understand why they chose each other and gain an understanding of why they keep engaging in the same arguments over and over. I find that once couples understand their patterns and the roles that EACH of them play individually in their relationship dynamics, the easier it becomes to get them working together to the greater good of the union. It eliminates the “victim” role and explores instead how they are co-creating whatever their issue is. I believe that until we understand our own issues, why we pick certain types of partners and become a part of the solution, we will keep repeating patterns that lead to the same regretful outcome.
I also offer video sessions through a fully encrypted and HIPAA compliant platform. Research shows that telemental health services are as effective as traditional face to face therapy sessions. This option allows the busiest of clients to participate in treatment from the comfort of their home, office or other convenient location.
